Last week TCAT reported that the Toronto Cycling Advisory Committee's
recommendations regarding the Martin Goodman Trail bollards at the
Boulevard Club would go the Planning and Growth Management Committee
for approval in January. In fact, it is the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee who will review the recommendations at its meeting on January 9th.
The following recommendations are now posted on the City's web site and can be accessed by clicking here.
The Committee requested the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee to request the General Manager, Transportation Services, in consultation with the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, to report on:
- the removal of the second row of bollards and review alternative bollard configuration on the Martin Goodman Trail at the Boulevard Club;
- possible traffic flow improvements in and around the entrance to the Boulevard Club, including the feasibility of restricting left turn in and left turn out to/from the Boulevard Club to Lakeshore Boulevard West; and
- the development of a policy and standards regarding the installation of bollards in the City of Toronto.
There will be an opportunity to speak to the standing committee on this
issue on January 9th. Contact the committee secretary Rosalind Dyers at
pwic@toronto.ca or 416-392-8018.
