Chief Coroner of Ontario Feedback regarding Review of Pedestrian Deaths
On November 7, 2011 the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario announced that his office will be conducting a review led by Dr. Bert Lauwers, Deputy Chief Coroner into pedestrian deaths across the province. The purpose of the review is to identify common factors that have played a role in pedestrian deaths and where appropriate, make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Pedestrian fatalities that have occurred in 2010 will be the focus of the review which is anticipated to be complete in the spring of 2012. A report will be issued at its conclusion.TCAT Director Nancy Smith Lea submitted comments in the attached email.
