The Toronto Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT) and Share the Road Cycling Coalition (STR) are teaming up to bring you three days of inspiration and best in class strategies to transform your community. Whether you are facing a design conundrum; looking for ways to conquer barriers to active school travel; or looking for assistance with effective outreach and marketing strategies, successful safety campaigns, and the latest in travel and tourism ideas, this event is for you! We’ll be bringing you captivating speakers and innovative ideas in this not to be missed annual event.
TCAT and STR recently issued a joint call for proposals looking for speakers to share their insight and expertise at the Complete Streets Forum and Ontario Bike Summit May 27th-29th, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto.
TCAT is looking for many different types of contributions that are relevant to our three main conference themes and that will help accelerate the implementation of Complete Streets. Putting Complete Streets into practice requires a joint effort between many different stakeholders. To ensure a comprehensive and balanced program, we are seeking speakers and participants from all related sectors including planners, transportation officials, public health professionals, engineers, urban designers, architects, accessibility and mobility experts, public transit professionals, advocates, and more. Proposals should be evidence-based and relate to the planning, design, engineering, research, evaluation, or economics of Complete Streets.
The deadline for submissions is March 8, 2013 at 5 p.m. More information about the Forum, this year’s themes, and the process to submit a proposal is available online.
